Batiste Dry Shampoo Review & Demo

Let's face it girls, we all have lazy days and during those lazy days, washing & styling hair can be a pain in the a$$.. I have the problem of greasy roots & dry ends which is not the best combination, especially as they're at the opposite end of the scales. This is where these babies come in...

Batiste Dry Shampoo 200ml (Cherry, Blush, Tropical) RRP £2.99
Batiste Dry Shampoo 200ml (XXL Volume) RRP £3.99

I originally heard about Batiste Dry shampoo when I was going on holiday and decided to try out the tropical one! I'd used the Tresemme Dry Shampoo before and I don't think it did much as I didn't repurchase it again; however it was a very long time ago so I don't really remember). At first I didn't particularly like the Batiste Dry Shampoo (I thought it was just a little too fussy) however I took it to uni with me in hope of finding some use for it. Now it's become a must in my hair care routine hence why I'm sharing it with you all!

Some fragrances can also be purchased in mini travel sizes and also extra value (400ml) cans..

DO I NEED BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO?

A lot of you may find yourself asking this question.. Why do I need a dry shampoo when I can just wash my hair instead? Is this just a glory product? Here are some reasons why you could want Batiste in your life:

 • If you're a student, you're automatically obliged to purchase Batiste (just kidding, it's just great for those early morning lectures after a deadly night out - spray & go!)

 • If you've got a job, kids or other priorities this is a good way to save up some extra time in the morning!

• Unexpected night out or running out of time? This baby quickens the process of getting ready hence why it's a staple product!

 • Washing hair often can strip the scalp of naturally occurring oils, which often interferes with maintaining healthy hair, causing issues such as dandruff, hair breakage & dry ends. Using dry shampoo occasionally is a great way to prolong those washes so that you can make the most out of your natural oils!

• If you have thin/little hair which gets greasy easily and you want to prolong a hair wash, this product does exactly that. I can go a good 2-3 days without washing my hair after using this product.

HOW DO I USE DRY SHAMPOO?

Thank you to my flatmate Sabbi for being my hair model as she's a useless photographer :)

1. Spray the product 20-30cm away from your scalp, focusing on your roots as that's where the oil build up is. Avoid spraying on your ends as you want them to be shiny and healthy looking.

2. Work the white powdery product into your scalp, massaging your roots and brushing through the top of your head with your fingers.

3. Brush & style your hair. Finito!

VERDICT

I really do recommend this product to anyone who is on the go a lot (travelling, work, etc.) as it does save a lot of time as well as enhancing the appearance of fresh & clean hair. If you're interested in this product but do not want to commit to a full size, purchase the mini travel sizes and give it a go!

TIPS:

1. Wash your hands after applying the dry shampoo as it can leave white stains on your clothes from the product.

2. Don't be afraid if the product still appears white on your hair, it just means you haven't massaged it in enough. If you feel you've sprayed too much on, grab a towel and use it to massage the product away.

3. I've only just discovered this but a quick and really effective way to use the dry shampoo is by applying it before you go to bed. You use the same method of application, but it just allows you more time for the product to absorb the oils from your scalp & also eliminates risk of staining your clothes. This method works especially well with the XXL Volume Dry shampoo.

4. A cheaper alternative is using talcum powder to soap up all the oils in your scalp.

Hope this helps!
