Live Fearless

Having a job, school or other priorities can often turn our lifestyles into a boring routine which we cannot escape. I know that whenever I'm going through a bored of life phase, I wish I was far away on a sandy beach ready to jump into the big blue. I was recently introduced to BodyForm's new campaign, Live Fearless, which gave me the opportunity to try one of my favorite restaurants in a new environment. I chose Nando's of course however I decided to dine at a Nando's 6,000 miles away from home just to make it more fun. However, I wanted to try something completely different and out of the norm to make myself proud. So when I went on holiday last month, I made a mini list and that's exactly what I did.

I've always been scared of heights and all these crazy bucket list ideas but I finally completed my first challenge. I jumped off a cliff onto a 150 meter high zip line going through an abandoned forest. It's the most scariest thing I'd ever done in my life but I loved it so much and would do it again. For those of you who may think it's only for adrenaline junkies, trust me when I say that I am 100% not that. I hate theme park rides and even driving over the occasional bump on the road but knowing that I tried something new and lived fearlessly makes me very proud of myself. Now I cannot wait to myself a new challenge!

Dear Santa...

Pinch punch, first day of Christmas month!
Guys, how are we now 24 days away from Christmas?! Time goes by so quick y'all. This year is going to be very different as I won't be celebrating Christmas in the UK... Whilst others think it lucky, I'm actually sad that I'll be missing out on all the cosy Christmas gear and possibly a white Christmas. Nonetheless, I'm still excited to see what a warm Christmas will be like and if it means Santa hats & swimsuits, then so be it! I made a Christmas wish list to start off the Christmas month (and hopefully for the boy to see :P) and thought I'd share it anyone searching for gift ideas. I think my top 3 have to be the Macbook Pro because my laptop is hanging on for dear life, the slip-on Vans (I have been searching for ages and cannot find them anywhere!) and also Flora by Gucci because it smells amazing!

Fleur Fatale by Kim Kardashian

Being a secret KUWTK fan, I was quite excited to give the latest Kim Kardashian fragrance a go. The bottle is shaped like a white rose and reminds me a lot of Kanye's floral wall gift for Kim (click here) and let's not forget the rose gold accents *drool*... I'm not too keen on the packaging (having a photo of Kim on the box makes it a little mehh...) however the scent is just what I'm looking for and pretty affordable too!

Fleur Fatale smells literally like a thousand flowers pressed into a bottle, floral and musky. It's a fragrance that I see myself repurchasing as not only is it inexpensive, but I could get away with wearing this in winter, summer, day or night.

FLEUR FATALE EDP

Top notes: Blackcurrant, Bergamot, Violet
Middle notes: Tea Rose, Peony, Iris
Base notes: Amber, Sandalwood, White Musk

Christmas with Burt's Bees & Lips So Facto

The adverts are out, festive season has already started! It seems like Christmas has come so quick this year, we've only just started November. Nonetheless, I'm not one to complain, bring on the limited edition gift sets and advent calendars! I was invited to the Burt's Bees Hive at Seven Dials yesterday to spend the evening with Meg from Lips So Facto and some other lovely ladies I met that night. It was such a laugh, we had chocolates, mince pies, Prosecco and also designed our own wrapping paper for our Burt's Bees goodies.

I absolutely love Burt's Bees products, I previously had one or two favorites but since visiting the Hive, I want to try everything they have to offer! All their products are such great quality and they also have a Natural Bar to show the exact percentage of natural ingredients in each product. They've also released limited edition Christmas gift sets which you can hang on your Christmas tree! Some of my favourite products from last night were...

Almond & Milk Hand Cream (smells like marzipan)
Tips & Toes Gift Set
Honey Pot Gift Set
Tinted Lip Balms (all time favourite)

Stay tuned for more Burt's Bees related posts,

Professional Haircare & Styling Haul | Salon International 2014 Part 2

For those that haven't read my previous post, I was lucky enough to attend Salon International recently at the Excel Exhibition Centre (click here for part 1) and meet some great hair stylists and also a few lovely PR friends! Following my treatment at the KeraStraight stand, I took a walk around the stalls and rediscovered some favourite brands including TIGI, Denman and Moroccanoil. Out of all the display stands I saw, I think the most impressive and creative were TIGI, WAHL, Tangle Teezer and KENT Brushes. I didn't expect the products to be as discounted as they were, hence me spending more than I expected to (can't resist a bargain!). I do wish I stayed a little longer to browse the other stalls, but I had to catch a train so I missed out on Babyliss Pro, Balmain Hair UK, Loreal Professional, HD Brows, Phillip Kingsley, Sexy Hair and quite a few others (cryyy).

KeraStraight Hair Treatment | Salon International 2014 Part 1

Hellooo loves :)
I'm ashamed to admit how long it's been since my last post!
Last month, I was invited to Salon International 2014 exhibition for a complimentary hair treatment at the Kerastraight stand. I was given the Intense Boost treatment which was only 30 minutes long. The process was extremely simple, all I had to do was sit back and relax whilst the lovely hairdressers took care of my hair.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

This 30 minute treatment claims to "repair, rehydrate and renew hair from the inside out" and also claims to "rebuild what the hair lacks and lock in moisture and strength for up to 30 days". The treatment is in-salon and retails for approximately £25.

The Body Shop Christmas Wishes Showcase

Hellooo lovelies!
Yesterday, I was invited to join Body Shop at their Christmas Wishes Showcase to view some new and limited edition products being released for Christmas! We were also given a tour by the amazing Odette Toilette of the iconic Body Shop Musk fragrances and how they evolved throughout the different eras. It was such a great experience, and not only was the tour filled with beautifully decorated rooms for each fragrance, Odette was fantastic in explaining how the different notes combined to create each fragrance. We even got to sample the different flavours and spices inspiring each perfumes - including the new Red Musk scent (on top of that, we had a sneaky glass of champagne, strawberries, chocolates & other delicious treats!). We also had a little boogie on the musical rug & learned how to flirt 18th century style. Our evening then ended with some exciting goody bags and writing down our Christmas wishes and posting them in the cute red post box for Santa to find!

The Christmas Wishes Showcase highlighted 5 Christmas Wishes to put a smile on everyone's faces:

1. To give the greatest gift of all... Education.
2. To have Christmas every day
3. To give the gift that wows
4. To be oh so indulgent
5. To be the belle of the ball

It's been a long while since my last blog post, you can blame my landlords (as I've said before, student accommodation is a b***h!). So last night I went to the Cosmo Blog Awards & although I didn't win (congratulations to all the winners!), I met some great people, drank A LOT of cocktails & had a real good pamper session!

Being the clumsy girl I am, not only did I forget my glasses AND book the wrong train (blame my flatmate Sabbi :P), I also took the wrong camera lens to the awards... But even with one hand full of Cosmo freebies and another occupied with cocktails, I did manage to snap a few photos so scroll down below if you would like to see what I got up to last night!

DIY Gift Ideas | Personalized Gift Box/Set

Hellooo lovelies.
I hope you've all had a good start to the week. Last week was one of my friend's birthdays and to celebrate, we dined, drank and danced in a restaurant/bar in Shoreditch. It had been so long since we last met up so I was really stuck on gift ideas & since she was going back to university, I decided to put together a few pieces which could help her along the way.

I was so pleased at how this little DIY turned out, especially since our plans were all so last minute. I also love this idea because it's more than just your average gift box, I've incorporated my own choices into the mix, it's a lot more personal & meaningful - great for showing family members, best friends, or partners how much you care. Also, the gifts don't have to be expensive, they can be little reminders of things that you've laughed over throughout the years, little treats, or even a themed gift box, e.g. stationery sets, beauty, winter accessories...

I started off by wrapping up an old shoe box in black tissue, wrapping it twice to hide the writing & labels. Then stick down the edges using double sided tape or any type of glue/tape. I forgot to take photos of the next step but I then scrunched up some tissue and placed it inside the box, this helps stop the contents from moving around.

I then laid out all the products on table and fitted them randomly into the box. I didn't want it to look too organised, so I placed everything pretty randomly. I then laid on some shredded metallic tissue paper, which I purchased from the Card Factory for 99p, as a finishing touch. I would have preferred to wrap the box using clear florist wrap , however I didn't have time to buy any so I opted for a trusty old gift bag instead.

I also wrote a little note (please forgive my scruffy handwriting ^-^) including all the little presents I added to the gift box, this is a huge step in making the gift more personal, each gift has a reason for being in the box - e.g. I know she's obsessed with doing nails so a quality polish like the Deborah Lippman is a great addition to the set. She also travels a lot so little travel sized beauty pieces like the mini Body Shop hand lotion was also a good choice.

Soap and Glory Haul

Hellooo lovelies.
So as you're all guessing, some thieves broke into my house and planted these products the other night.. The struggle. Okay okay, so Boots had a Buy 1 Get 1 half price off on all S&G products and I just couldn't help myself! I repurchased some all time faves and some new products I wanted to try out. I absolutely love S&G, they're products smell amazing and do wonders! If you also thought I positioned the products in that particular way for the photo shots, you're wrong, I've created a shrine.. No joke..

So far, I've repurchased the Scent-sationalism Gift Set 6 times (once on 3 for 2, don't judge me!) I'm so hooked on these body mists & they're the perfect size for travelling. The Glow lotion also smells incredible and I can't wait to use it on a night out! I didn't pick up any of the body butter tubs as I have quite a few lying around already. I won't give out too much detail as I'm planning to do separate reviews on my favourite picks so stay tuned to find out more!

For those of you who haven't tried any S&G products yet:

a) I'm not angry with you, just disappointed... ;)
b) Click here to buy 1 and get 1 half price on Soap & Glory goodies!

Models Own Mini Haul

Hellooo lovelies, hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far. Last week, my flatmate Sabbi came down to London and I finally took her to Stratford Westfield. We also did a few cheeky shops including one unexpected stop in a huge nail polish.. That's right, we were inside a huge nail polish!
Models Own Have recently opened up a pop up store in Westfield and if you're a nail polish fanatic, you have to stop by it! They have all the colours you could possibly ever need, want, or even think of - it's like a rainbow puked all over the walls (in a good way).

They had a 6 for £20 offer on all items so me and Sabbi picked 3 polishes each. The lady who served us was extremely friendly and we had a good, long chat about all things Youtube and blogging. After falling in love with most of the polishes, I narrowed down my top 3 (believe me it was hard) and we also received 2 free eyeliners!

Coincidently, two of the shades I picked up, Beach Bag (neon peachy orange) and Sun Hat (neon pastel pink) were part of the Polish for Tans collection which is supposed to enhance and compliment tanned skin - which I really believe is true! I also picked up a champagne rose gold glitter polish called Pink Fizz because it was so pretty and sparkly. It really has that wow factor  (apparently it's one of the best sellers) and it's been scientifically proven that by being a girl, I cannot resist shiny objects ^-^ The formulas of the polishes are quite opaque, which means you only need 1-2 coats and you're good to go! I shall be revisiting the giant nail polish soon to pick up some Autumn/Winter shades ;)
