The Collection (formely Collection 2000) 16 Hour Lasting Perfection Concealer claims to 'conceal flaws and blemishes for up to 16 hours'.
RRP: £4.19 (left to right) With flash, without flash |
I had seen a few Youtubers raving about this concealer but I wasn't too fussed at first as I had my trusty old Mac Studio Fix. However when I ran out, I decided to purchase it during Superdrug's 3 for 2 offer. This concealer is now one of the most favorite drugstore products, hence the multiple backups.
Product comes in 4 shades: Old Shades: Fair (1), Light (2), Medium (3), Deep (4) New Shades: Fair (1), Cool Medium (2), Warm Medium (3), Dark (4) |
Initially I thought the consistency was too sheer as I prefer more heavier coverage. However with the price I paid for it, I wasn't fussed and decided to use it until I purchased a new Studio Fix. After a few days of using the product, the formula thickened up a little. It didn't dry out, it became creamier, and actually made the product better in terms of coverage and longevity. The colours have a peachy undertone which is great for counteracting dark circles, covering acne scars and brightening the skin.
- Affordable
- Can be purchased on offers (3 for 2, etc.)
- Creamy and blendable
- Light-Medium, buildable coverage
- Doesn't break me out
- Dewy finish
- Nice highlight under the eyes ( I'm NC42/NC43 in MAC and use the shade Deep)
DISADVANTAGES:
- Cheap packaging - ink wears off (see image below)
- Packaging wastes product & unhygienic for professional use
- Product has a plastic like smell
- Limited colour range
- Oilier skin types may need to set with powder as it could crease
With flash. The ink smudges on to your hand everywhere which is really annoying when applying make-up so I've just used nail polish remover to get rid of it all, SORTED! |
THE VERDICT
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this concealer! It's more than a 'get what you pay for' product and when it's this cheap, the packaging doesn't really bother me. If you are looking for a quality concealer on a budget, DO try this one as it's definitely worth investing in. At £4, you can't really go wrong! The advantages outweigh the disadvantages by far and for someone who has spend years buying pricey concealers (i.e. Studio Fix concealer at £15), I love both products as much as each other!
Please note guys, this concealer has quite a peachy undertone to it (perfect for cool toned skin & counteracting darkness) and as my skin has warmer tones, I usually wear the concealer under my eyes as it doesn't really correct redness.

Hope this has helped,
