Cloud 9 Magical Duet Haircare Review

Hellooo lovelies.
As my hair is far from perfect, I'm always up for trying some new products. I've been trying out the Cloud 9 Magical Duet set which contains two magical repair and protect products:

Magical Potion (50ml)
Magical Remedy (50ml)

MAGICAL QUICK DRY POTION
The potion is available in a full sized bottle (200ml) as well as travel size (50ml). It's supposed to act as a heat protector and UV filter for your hair, reduce drying time by around 50% as well as prevent frizz. The potion looks like magic in a bottle - you give it a shake until it turns milky blue and just spritz from mid-length to the ends of your hair. I wouldn't be able to tell you guys if it really impacted the drying time as my hair dries fairly quickly anyway; however I did like the fact that it protected my hair from heat without weighing it down or leaving any grease/residue. It also smells really lovely, the spritz packaging makes it so easy to apply and the product seems to last forever. I've used the potion a good few times and there's still so much product left!

MAGICAL REMEDY
I believe this a new product from Cloud 9 and cannot be bought separately just yet. The Magical Remedy claims to reduce split ends & breakage. It looks similar to a conditioner/hair mask and can be used on wet or dry hair as a leave in conditioner, detangler or intensive repair treatment. This product smells so heavenly, I think the scent is mainly why I love it so much! I think the Magical Remedy would be perfect for finer, thinner hair as most styling & treatment products are often too heavy for those hair types whereas this one is really lightweight. Although my hair has really thinned out; the strands itself are quite thick & I had to use a lot of the product to see a difference when the packaging says use in tiny quantities. I did also try to leave the Magical Remedy in my hair as a leave-in conditioner, but I ended up applying too much & it made my hair a little too greasy. This one takes a bit more getting used to however both products combined (using the Magical Remedy as a hair mask) did leave me with straight hair for a good 3 days which is average time before a wash.

Liebster Award

Hellooo lovelies!
Yesterday, the lovely Jasmina nominated me for the Liebster Award. Thank you Jasmina for my nomination and I look forward to answering your questions!
So the rules for this award are:

Make sure to link back to the blogger(s) that nominated you.
Answer all of the questions provided from blogger that nominated you.
Nominate 11 bloggers of your choice, who have under 200 followers.
Create 11 questions of your own, for the bloggers you nominate to answer.

LET'S DO THIS!

What is your go-to makeup look for a special occasion?
I always alternate between a gold smokey eye or bold red lip, pretty standard stuff.

Whats your fave season, Summer or Winter?
Is it cheating if I chose Autumn? I used to love Summer as a kid because all we'd do is have waterfights but these days it's just makeup melting of your face and what not!

Whats your favorite makeup brand?
I think I'd have to say MAC mainly because they have something for everyone and they are somewhat affordable compared to other premium brands. But if I had to choose drugstore, I think Sleek has really outdone themselves in terms of affordability, quality and how pigmented their products are.

Whats your reason for starting a blog?
I'm a huge makeup hoarder & I love all things creative (DIY's, etc.) I also used to love writing stories and stuff as a kid so I guess I combined the two and started blogging.

You see Leonardo Di-Caprio casually walking down the street, what do you do?
Probably be passed out on the floor or I'd be trying to play it cool when I approach him and lose all sense of speech when I open my mouth.. Either way I'm f***ed.

If there was one makeup look you had to stick with for the rest of your days, what would it be?
Matte brown lids with winged liner & berry lips - a perfect Autumn look!

Whats your biggest pet peeve?
Attention seekers! When someone's mean or a b**** you can normally tell straight away. But attention seekers seem genuine & friendly until you realize they're telling everyone details about your life & playing weird mind games with you! Just be yourself and be cool.

Who is your inspiration?
My blogger inspiration would probably be Zoella simply because she's been able to do all these cool projects including releasing a book - something which I've always wanted since childhood. And also knowing that someone who suffers from the same anxiety problems as me has got so far really encourages & motivates me.

Celebrity Crush?
Wait so I'm only allowed one?! I seriously can't choose - check my Get To Know Me Tag for a list of 25 hotties but my Girl Celebrity Crush has definitely got to be Kylie Jenner!

Whats your favorite TV Show?
Since yesterday Pretty Little Liars has made it's way back to the top! I won't say much as some of you may have not watched the Fatal Finale but so much happened (which is a huge change as opposed to the other episodes).

Who's your fave Friends Character?
Oh, this is quite hard - I think Joey because he was so easily pleased. Give him a sandwich and he's a happy chap!

I NOMINATE:

(I cheated a little as I'm still new to the blogging community & could not find enough bloggers under 200 followers, but still take part as you're all awesome!)

MY QUESTIONS:

One goal you would like to achieve in the future?
Only 3 beauty products to last you the rest of your life, what would they be?
Heels or Trainers? And why?
The best advice you've ever been given?
Go to hairstyle?
Why did you start your blog?
Celebrity crush?
Who is your inspiration?
Favorite place to shop?
Where is your ideal home location?
Favorite perfume?

Thanks again for nominating me Jasmina & good luck girls!

French Pharmacies, Losing My Sephora Virginity, Beauty Haul & a Parisian Flu

Hellooo lovelies.
I'm ashamed at how long it's been since my last post! As you can see from my post title, August has been a hectic month from moving home for the summer to repacking for a last minute flight to Paris!
I was only in Paris for 5 days attending a wedding so I didn't get to see or do much; I did however get to sneak in a few beauty purchases!

One thing which I loved about buying beauty products in Paris was receiving samples. When shopping on the high street, I don't usually get samples unless I've reached a minimum spend or something. I appreciate that sometimes counters may be low on stock or that some customers take advantage of freebies; however employees can also be real snotty about handing out samples which makes us customers feel embarrassed to ask and it really sucks! I purchased one item from Yves Rocher, got home and I realized I'd been given about 4 samples.

I purchased two MAC lipsticks in Duty Free on the way to Paris in the shades Plumful (top) and Creme in Your Coffee (bottom). There were some other things I wanted to pick; however, I only had about 10 minutes till the gate opened. FYI guys, Gatwick Duty Free MAC do not sell any pigments!

I was given the Yves Rocher makeup as a gift from my lovely aunt, who also took me to my first French pharmacy. Yves Rocher is like a French version of The Body Shop with skin friendly products & lovely perfumes. I haven't tried any of the beauty products yet so I have no idea what to expect, but I came home and found out they ship to the UK so some good news there!

In the airport, I also picked up the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lip Creams in the shades Hot Pepper, Frambourjoise and Grand Cru. They were on 3 for 2 and I have no excuse for my purchase... I just wanted them ^-^

We went for a quick visit to Forum Des Halles which is like a smaller version of Westfield for those of you who have ever been there. They had MAC, Kiko, Sephora, H&M and a few other shops which I've forgotten about. I didn't get to spend much time in Sephora as we had to run home to get ready for the wedding but my cousin told me not to worry as there was a Sephora in the airport... But there wasn't... I was sad...

I haven't gone into detail with the products mainly because I'm going to be doing individual reviews once I've used them more. There were so many more things I wanted to try, buy and visit; however with such little time on my hands & so much to do, it could only mean one thing...

Another trip to Paris is definitely due!

SUMMARY OF MY TRIP

Wrongly assumed our flight was 2 hours long & reached Paris in 45 minutes

Old grandma's and aunties in the wedding questioning my dad and I about when I'm going to get married (cheeky mares, I'm only 20 FGS!)

Broke my Sephora virginity

Learned that most people in Paris look and smell good

Took an hour long stroll to the Eiffel Tower but didn't have time to actually visit it (what a tease)

Caught the flu on my last day in Paris :(

Stay tuned for full reviews & swatches of these products!

The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club

Hellooo everyone.
I've always struggled when it comes to buying fragrances online. There could be great deals or discount codes available but I can never purchase the perfume simply because I don't know what the fragrances smell like!

The Fragrance Shop Discover Club*, similar to a Birchbox or Glossybox, delivers 5 beautifully packaged fragrance samples (7 this month) straight to your door. Each box costs £5 per quarter and is commitment free so you can cancel your subscription at any time!

THOUGHTS:

So beautifully packaged with a sturdy box, tissue wrapping & a signature Discover Club sticker logo
(I oo-ed and aah-ed for ages before opening the package)

Can be purchased as a treat for yourself or as a gift for a fragrance lover

Mixed samples for women and men (great variety however I would like the option of women or men only)

Rolling subscription (great because you can never be sure about the long term)

Most of the samples came in spray form (life safer! I usually spill the normal samples everywhere)

Vouchers off in every box - if you purchase any fragrances from this month's box, you get up to £40 off in vouchers (which covers the cost of the box).

Wish there were 7 samples in every box

A variety of high end brands (Prada, Givenchy, Agent Provocateur, etc.) included - which smell amazing!

A really perfect gift idea for any fragrance lovers

Random update: My dad saw this lying on my table and was so intrigued, he was asking if I could buy him 5 boxes so he can give it to his friends as presents.. No dad no :P

What are your thoughts on the Discovery Club?
