Heal Gel Eye

Since December last year, I'd been using my LRP Pigmentclar eye cream (HERE) which isn't a miracle product, but has been hydrating and brightening up my under eye area. But the positive results were only short term, I'd been using Pigmentclar for nearly 6 months now but hadn't noticed any huge differences in the under eye area.

I recently switched to Heal Gel Eye, an aqueous based eye gel which claims to help 'diminish the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and fine lines' around the eyes. I was quite excited to try this product because Heal Gel products were partly created by cosmetic and aesthetic surgeons and the How It Works page on the Heal Gel website seemed pretty promising, so my hopes were quite high. Now I've only used this product for about a week or so, but I was instantly in love with it and wanted to share my thoughts with you all.

PACKAGING
First off, packaging - all the heal gel products have a pharmacy prescription like packaging with pretty much all the info you need on the box: what it is, what it does, who it's suitable for, how to apply it, who made it, how you can contact them and most importantly, the ingredients. Although packaging doesn't improve a product, I like knowing that all the information I need is there... and not gonna lie the prescription theme weirdly excited me a little. The gel comes in a little plastic bottle with a pump and there is 15ml of product. I feel like one pump of the product is a little too much so I usually use around half a pump for both eyes.

PRODUCT
The gel is milky looking and has a faint medical cream scent combined with lavender, Hard to explain but I've used loads of prescribed creams before and that's just what it reminds me of. I'm not fond of lavender but it is bearable and once the gel is applied, it's not noticeable at all. The first thing I noticed when applying the product was that it's not instantly absorbed into the skin, you have to massage it gently around the area until the gel is fully absorbed. But I like that you have to work the product in because I feel like it's hydrating more than just the top layers of my skin. A lot of other eye creams I've used have suggested patting the product around the eye area to avoid pulling the skin; however the Heal Gel eye just glides across my skin. Also because it's gel based, there's no greasy residue left behind and it's a perfect base for under-eye concealing. After applying Heal Gel eye, my under eye area feels soft, hydrated, and cushion-y.

PRICE
The Heal Gel Eye retails at £32 for 15ml of product, It's a little more expensive compared to my previous eye creams however it's also been the best so far. This doesn't mean that all expensive eye creams work as I've also had my fair share of high end products with little result. But compared to my Pigmentclar eye cream, I would rather pay £7.50 more for a product that I find works better overall.

OVERALL
Bearing in mind that I've only used the product for a week, it's still a little early for drastic changes. But I would definitely repurchase the Heal Gel Eye again simply because it does the perfect job of moisturising and hydrating my dry under eye area, an issue which I have to deal with often. I would also love to give the other Heal Gel products a try and see what they are like.

Natural Pink & Nude Polishes

Hellooo lovelies!
It's been so long since my last post *blush* if you've seen my Pale Pink, Rose Gold and Nude Tones blog post last month, you'd know how obsessed I've been over the more pale colours recently! These days I'm not wearing much colour on my nails either and I've been on the search for some pretty pale pink polishes. I was browsing on Fragrance Direct and found some amazing Essie & Orly polishes for a bargain so I just had to share them with you all.

PACKAGING

I've never really focused on the the packaging of a nail polish before but with the Essie & Orly polishes being so different to each other, I'll share my thoughts with you all. The Orly polishes have a rubber cap, which I think feels a little weird but it does help with grip when struggling to unscrew those bottles. Although the Essie polishes don't have a rubber top, the imprinted Essie logo on the bottle does help with grip and personally I think the iconic square Essie bottles look a lot more cuter.

PRODUCT

I love love love the brush on Essie polishes, they are wide, flat and make application so much more easier, even and precise. The Orly brush however to me isn't really appealing, it's quite thin which makes it harder for even application and coverage. As the shades which I bought were quite sheer, both polishes took around 3 coats for more or less opaque colour. Both polishes dried fairly quick however I was packing on the layers so it took a lot longer for 3 coats to completely dry.

PRICE

The Orly polishes I purchased were £1.99 and the Essie polishes were £2.49 but Orly polishes have 18ml worth of product and Essie only have 13.5ml. However considering these prices are a lot more cheaper than RRP, I would definitely repurchase Essie polishes because they just ticked all the boxes for me!
